1. Scope
This policy applies to:
- the SoloWel website (PWA);
- the Android app (Google Play).
An account is required so we can attach Pro purchases, trials, and access codes to your identity.
2. Financial data (local)
Numbers you enter in the tools (income, debts, savings, and so on) are stored on your device (browser or phone). They are not copied to our servers.
The publisher cannot view, share, or sell your financial information. We do not hold a copy of your simulations.
- PIN: a 6-digit PIN encrypts local data. SoloWel cannot recover a forgotten PIN. Without it, local data can only be erased.
- Backup / restore: you can export or import an encrypted backup file from the device. That file does not include your Pro status.
- Uninstall: deleting the app or clearing site data removes local simulations. It does not automatically delete your cloud account.
3. Account, entitlements, and payment (cloud)
For account and payment, we keep only what we need:
- Email and account identifier (one-time email code, or Google);
- Pro status (48-hour trial, one-time purchase, access code): source (Lemon, Google Play, trial, or code), dates, and a store purchase identifier when applicable;
- minimal technical metadata for authentication and billing.
Google may send a name or profile photo to our authentication provider. We do not store them, we do not display them, and we do not use them for the product. We do not send a newsletter or ads to your email.
We do not collect Social Security / NAS numbers, bank account numbers, or account balances. We do not use behavioral advertising or third-party ad trackers.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We use account data to:
- sign you in and protect access;
- attach Pro to your account (trial, web purchase, Google Play purchase, access code);
- reattach Pro via Restore purchases on Android, or by signing in again;
- answer support or account-deletion requests.
Legal bases (Quebec Law 25 / GDPR): performance of the contract (providing the service and Pro), and payment-related legal duties where required. We do not sell personal information.
5. Processors and third parties
Account authentication and hosting
A cloud provider handles sign-in (email / Google) and Pro status (trial, purchase, codes). It processes the email and account identifier, not your financial simulations.
Lemon Squeezy
One-time Pro checkout on the web. Lemon processes payment data under its own policies.
Google Play Billing
One-time Pro purchase in the Android app. Google processes the transaction. We verify the receipt to unlock Pro on your account.
Google Play and web hosting
Google Play and the site host (including solowel.com) may collect technical metadata (device, logs, crash reports) under their own rules.
6. Retention
Email and Pro status are kept while the account exists, then deleted after a deletion request. We do not anonymize this data: the account is erased.
Financial data on the device stays under your control until you erase it, uninstall the app, or clear the browser store.
7. Your rights
Under Quebec Law 25, the GDPR, and similar laws, you may request access, correction, or deletion of the information we hold about your account.
- Cloud account: in Settings, tap Delete my account (you must be signed in). Without the app, email contact@solowel.com from the address on the account. Details: delete an account.
- Financial data: use erase in Settings, or uninstall / clear the site. We cannot restore a lost simulation: we do not have a copy.
- Portability of simulations: export a backup file from the device (Pro feature).
Uninstalling the app is not enough to delete the email we store. You need an account-deletion request.
8. Cookies, session, and local storage (web)
On the web (browser and PWA), SoloWel uses browser local storage and, when needed, cookies or session storage to:
- keep your sign-in session (authentication);
- save your simulations and settings on that device / browser;
- remember language, region, and the local PIN.
These are not advertising cookies. Clearing site data in the browser removes local simulations and the session, not the cloud account.
9. Transfers and sharing
Authentication, hosting, and payment providers (Lemon Squeezy, Google) may process account data outside Quebec, including in the United States. We do not share account data for marketing. We disclose it to a third party only if the law requires it.
Your financial data is not transferred: it stays on the device.
SoloWel is not directed at children under 13.
10. Regional coverage (tools)
Calculators include indicative tax parameters for:
🇨🇦 Canada (CAD)
All 10 provinces, including Quebec (CAN_QC) and Ontario (CAN_ON).
🇺🇸 USA (USD)
All 50 states and the District of Columbia, including sales tax where modeled.
🇪🇺 Europe (EUR)
France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Netherlands, Portugal, Ireland, Greece (VAT and simplified tax in the tools).
11. Compliance (Law 25, GDPR, CCPA)
Law 25
Your financial data stays local: it is not in our custody. Your account, entitlements, and payment are our responsibility (and that of our processors). You may require their deletion by email.
GDPR
Same split: simulations on the device; email and Pro in the cloud. Access, erasure, and restriction rights apply to account data. No sale of data.
CCPA / COPPA
We do not sell personal information. SoloWel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data (COPPA).
12. Disclaimer
SoloWel is a simulation and education tool, on the web and on Android. Calculations are estimates and are not financial, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page controls. Continued use after publication means you have seen the current version.
